Leaders in Training
Ages 13-15
Our Leader in Training (LIT) program provides a structured environment for young adults to develop job and leadership skills. LITs will be placed at one of Willamalane’s local day camps or playground program sites. Required parent meeting: 5/20 from 12pm-1pm or 5/20 from 6pm-8pm. Required LIT training: 6/12 from 1pm-4pm. For information contact Zach Bessett at [email protected] or 541-736-4009.
Summer Camp Programs
Camp programs are offered throughout the summer for youth ages 5-14. Camps include Camp Kaboom, Dorris Ranch Camp, and Sports of All Sorts. Volunteers help with songs, games, crafts and field trips. Have fun with kids at indoor and outdoor locations.
This position is good for volunteers who enjoy working with kids and have the time to make an ongoing commitment. Volunteers with special skills or passions are encouraged to participate as they have an opportunity to lead mini-sessions with youths. Volunteers must have access to transportation as they are not permitted to travel on the program buses. Volunteers must be over 18 years old or over 16 and require hours for a leadership development organization (i.e. National Honor Society, International High School, job placement class, etc.). Volunteers must have a successful interview, be able to work on a weekly basis, and pass a Criminal and DHS Background Check. To apply, contact Kim at [email protected] or 541-736-4520.
Special Events
Events would not be possible without the support of volunteers. Through the year, there are a variety of events held across the district in parks and facilities. Events include but are not limited to: Megga Hunt, Movies, Spring Cling, Concerts, Summer Solstice Dash & Bash, Concerts, SummerFair, Haunted Hayride, Rocktoberfest, Turkey Stuffer, and a variety of tournaments and athletic events. Volunteer duties vary depending on the event and the needs.
This position is good for volunteers who would like to give back but do not have time for consistently weekly service. Volunteers must be able to provide good customer service, be flexible, and have a passion for the community. Volunteers must be 16 years or older to volunteer independently. For certain events, volunteers can be under 16 years old but must be in high school with parent approval. On-going Special Event volunteers must pass a Criminal Background Check. Work Parties are also ideal of group participation. To apply, contact Kim at [email protected] or 541-736-4520.
